Winter Frise, Fennel and Celery Salad

We love winter salads and this one is a keeper! Greens don’t have to be bland when you use your Healthy On You blends in homemade dressings. BONUS: making your own dressing is healthier than many of the fatty, sugary, store-bought brands! ⁠

This is an easy Winter Salad with Pomegranate Za’atar Dressing using our Healthy On You While My Za’atar Gently Weeps spice blend. This salad is great with a protein like shrimp of grilled chicken for a healthy lunch or dinner and if you are charged with bringing the salad for the potluck holiday party, well, look no further!

Ingredients

Makes 4 servings

For the Salad

  • 1 small
    head of Frise lettuce, rinse broken apart and dried⁠
  • ½  large
    bulb of fennel shaved⁠
  • 1 large
    celery rib, washed and thinly sliced in crescents⁠
  • ½  cup
    pomegranate
  • ½  cup
      candied walnuts

For the dressing

Preparation

  1. Add the shaved fennel, celery and lettuce to a large bowl and set aside.⁠
  2. In a mason jar, add all the salad dressing ingredients, close and shake vigorously. ⁠
  3. Add ½  the dressing to the bowl (less or more if you like) toss well. Sprinkle with the pomegranate seeds and walnuts.⁠
