Healthy Fall Cooking Class

Well, it didn’t really feel like fall. I think it may have been 90 degrees outside! But inside, we didn’t even notice. The smell of fall was certainly in the air beginning with the delicious aroma of apples in our signature drink: apple cider and pomegranate spritzers. ​It set the tone and mood for an incredible class with delightful fall fare. ​Here is how you make it below.

Ingredients

Makes 6 servings

  • 2
    pears, thinly sliced
  • 2
    apples, thinly sliced
  • 1
    lemon cut into 8 wedges
  • 4
    cinnamon sticks
  • 8
    whole star anise
  • ½  cup
    apple whisky
  • ¼ cup
    brandy
  • cups sparkling apple cider
  • 2 cups
    apple cider
  • seeds from one pomegranate

Preparation

  1. Add the sliced fruit, pomegranate seeds, cinnamon sticks and star anise to a large pitcher.
  2. Pour the brandy and whiskey over the fruit.
  3. Next add in the sparkling apple cider *
  4. Last, add the apple cider and stir.
  5. *If you're making this ahead of time, leave the sparkling cider out until the last minute and then pour it in right before serving. You can also substitute sparkling apple cider for Prosecco.
