ABOUT SAM
I began helping friends, giving advice on gardening, cooking, health and wellness, and thought, “Since I enjoy this so much, I should reach out and help others.” I decided to take the plunge and become a Certified Health Coach and that’s how Healthy On You® was born.
I teach healthy cooking classes and have my own line of gourmet spice blends that are 100% organic. See, it's not enough to tell clients what to do to become healthy; I lead by example and provide the tools to make healthy living a fun and enjoyable lifestyle.
Through my cooking classes I teach clients how to make healthy substitutions in their diets. I turn classic favorites into healthy versions of their delicious selves! It's about changing the way we look at food

The Healthy On You® gourmet organic spice and salt blends are a natural product of these classes. I always experiment by creating new spice blends to enhance the flavors of the food we prepare during class. It was important that the spices be the best quality, organic and as fresh as possible. I would give samples to clients in their goodie bags after class and they kept coming back for more. I decided it was time to develop and share these blends. And that's how I entered the sensuous and flavorful business of spices.
On a personal level, my love of food comes from my culture and place of birth. I’m Jamaican and we love food! My mother is Indian/Jamaican and naturally combined her Indian culture with Jamaican cooking. We ate delicious, flavorful curries and stews growing up. She cooks (and still does) homemade meals almost everyday. She would grind her own spices which made all the difference in her cooking. I knew every ingredient in the foods she prepared. I learned so much about life and food from this special woman.
