That's what the holiday season is about, really-having a good time with your family and friends. There's a case to be made that people who are socially connected are happier and more healthful in general. Less tension, anger, guilt and stress all contribute to better overall health and happiness. So with that in mind, instead of stressing about eating yummy holiday foods and fretting about shopping lists, my health plan during the holidays is to simply have fun! Truth is, if you are already leading a healthy lifestyle, it's not what you do or don't do (like exercise, for example) during the holidays, its what you've been doing before and after that matters. That's not to say I'm going to overindulge. Over time I've developed healthy habits and routines. If you've been living a healthy lifestyle all year, with good eating habits and regular physical activity, you will naturally be inclined to keep your body moving-so don't panic, have fun!
